On April 25, 2021 the world lost a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend and long-time educator “Mrs. Twede”. Known to her family as Carole Lee (Dalby) Twede, she was born on November 24, 1943 in beautiful Miles City, Montana to Lewellyn and Rose (Cappelletti) Dalby. While in high school, Carole would meet her “sweetheart” Robert C. Twede. Eventually, Robert would join the Army and Carole would wait for his return. They would marry in 1966 in Montana. They were blessed with two sons, Claiton and Robert. Carole and her husband Robert would find a passion for teaching young minds and would go to college and become teachers. Carole would focus on elementary education, while Robert taught high school shop and drafting. Carole was highly intelligent and would earn a master’s degree. She would teach briefly in Montana but starting in the 1970/71 school year she and Robert would move to Mill City, Oregon. Carole would teach elementary school for the Stayton and Santiam School Districts. She would eventually retire around 2006 and in her career had the pleasure of teaching at least 3 generations of families. Once retired, Carole enjoyed taking day trips with her husband, Robert to Spirit Mountain Casino. She also was an avid reader that always had a book ready once one was finished. Carole enjoyed taking care of her family and cooking for them as well as gardening. Carole is survived by her husband of 55 years, Robert C. Twede; children, Claiton Twede and Robert Twede; brother, Chuck Dalby in addition to 5 grandchildren Ryan Gonzales-Mask, Alizabeth Gonzales-Twede, Devin Gonzales-Twede, Gage Kaaihue-Evangelista Twede, Colt Kaaihue-Evangelista Twede. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Donations in her name can be made to the Mill City Fire Department.
