Dale Vernon Music  October 29, 1932 October 9, 2015 Bend, Oregon Dale Vernon Music, 82, of Bend, Oregon, went home to be with his Lord on October 9, 2015, after an extended illness, with his wife, Leah, at his side. He was born October 29, 1932, in New Haven, Wyoming, to Guy Clifford and Esther Ann Music. Services will be held Saturday, October 17, 2015, at 2:00 p.m., at Willamette Valley Baptist Church, 650 N. 1st St., Aumsville, Oregon. Interment with military honors will follow at Miller Cemetery in Scio, Oregon. Dale is survived by his wife of 64 years, Leah Music; children Debra Allen of Salem, Oregon, David Music of Reedsport, Oregon, and Jeffery Music of Craig, Alaska; grandchildren Ryan Allen, Tara Music, Erin Haney (Benjamin), Lisa Music, Travis Music, Dustan Music, Clayton Music, and Nevin Music; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his oldest son, Gregory Music. Dale graduated from Cascade Union High School in Turner, Oregon, in 1951, and served in Navy Reserve from March 22, 1951, until March 21, 1955, when he was honorably discharged. Dale married Leah Sledge on September 21, 1951. He loved the woods and made a career in logging beginning in Oregon, continuing in northern California, and ending his career in Alaska. Dale enjoyed hunting, fishing, and winter sports with his family. He was a devout Christian; beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
