Edward Johnathon Ahlgren was born on September 19, 1975 in Portland, Oregon to Julie Stepan Ahlgren. He grew up in Dallas, Oregon and moved to Corvallis in 2007. Edward joined the Army National Guard when he was 17 to honorably serve his country in 1992. Through his time with the National Guard he was trained as a medic. This was the right MOS for him because of his desire to always help people. Edward was honorably discharged in 1995. Through his entire life he was an incredibly hard worker who built houses in addition to landscaping, hardscaping, and irrigation. Edward recently retired due to an on the job injury, resulting in him being further disabled. The most important role that he had in life was that of a spouse to his wife and father to his daughters. He married Amber Moore on November 27, 2011 in their town of Corvallis. Edward brought with him to the marriage his two lovely daughters, Arrayh Hope and Sativa Orestanne. It was at this point the family of four began their Happily Ever After. Edward loved his family very much and was devoted to his four girls (his daughters, wife and mother) in addition to his dogs and cats. He greatly enjoyed fishing, growing and harvesting marijuana in addition to medical marijuana advocacy, the Grateful Dead and drinking hard cider. Through his entire life he was caring – always putting others before himself. He would actively help anyone he crossed paths with, especially those in his community including his friends and neighbors. On March 24, 2019 Edward passed away in Portland, Oregon at age 43, due to complications from severe flu and pneumonia. His loss leaves behind many broken hearts including his wife, Amber Ahlgren; daughters, Arrayh Hope Ahlgren and Sativa Orestanne Ahlgren; mother, Julie Ahlgren; sister, Christine Benson in addition to many extended family members and friends. A celebration of Edward’s life will take place on April 20th (those who truly know him, know the significance of this date) in Corvallis, OR.
