Frank Raymond “Ray” Ruby

08/26/35 03/31/10

Ray passed away peacefully at his home, with his loving wife and children by his side. Ray was born on the farm in Scio, Oregon, to James S. and Minnie Ruby. He was raised on his family’s dairy farm, and was a charter member and first president of the Scio FFA chapter. He married Ida B. Luscher in 1966 and they raised their family on the dairy farm in Scio. Ray was an eternal optimist, a devoted husband, a loving father, and a wonderful grandpa. He was a leader within the dairy industry at the state and national levels, serving as President of the Oregon Dairy Farmers Association, President of the Oregon Holstein Association, Board member of the national Holstein Association; as well as the local community of Scio, serving on the Scio School Board for 13 years, and a member of the Scio Lion’s Club. It was Ray’s sense of humor, his ability to bring out the best in people, and his incredible dedication to his commitments that made him so endearing to others. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Ray is survived by his wife Ida; his children Scott and Michele; his grandchildren Matthew, Jacob, and Brooke; and his sister Vi Rexford. He was preceded in death by his sister Cynthia Coady and his sister Larene Malone.
