Gerald "Rocky" Rockwell

A service will be held on Saturday, June 16th 2018 at 10:00 AM at Weddle Funeral Service. Gerald “Rocky” Rockwell , of Sublimity, Oregon, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2018. Gerald was born March 6, 1930 to George and Mabel (Fitch) Rockwell in Running Water, South Dakota. They moved to Rapid City, SD where he spent his childhood years. At the age of 16, Gerald moved to the Willamette Valley with his family. Gerald married Leila Mae White in 1949. They recently celebrated their 68th Wedding Anniversary. Gerald loved trucks and trucking. He hauled logs and veneer for a few years and then became the trucking supervisor for Freres Lbr Co. in Lyons, Oregon until he retired at the age of 59. His hobby was rebuilding antique stationary gas engines. Gerald is survived by his wife Leila, 2 sons, Frank and his wife Lili in Aumsville, Randy and his wife Jamie in Salem, and daughter Diana in Sublimity, 6 grandchildren: Brian Rockwell, Jessica Johnston, Randy Rockwell, Kristi Rockwell, Josh Ramsey and Jacob Ramsey and 10 great grandchildren.
