Glen Leroy Daniels, age 92, passed away on May 5, 2020 in Salem. Glen was born on March 24, 1928 in Powers, OR to Rees and Edna (Strong) Daniels. He was one of seven children born to Rees and Edna. The family moved to Cottage Grove, and he graduated from Myrtle Point High School in 1946. While living in Cottage Grove, Glen met his future wife, Dorothy VanNortwick. They wed on August 8, 1948 in Cottage Grove. In 1952, he enlisted in the United States Army Corp of Engineers. He served for 2 years during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1954. He then went to work as a Union Carpenter with the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. Following that, he worked for McKenzie Contractors. Glen spent most of his life in Cottage Grove. He lived in Kimmer, WY and Ogden, UT for a period of time and most recently he lived in Salem. Glen enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. He was a member of the 6th and Gibbs Church of Christ in Cottage Grove for many years. Glen is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Daniels; his children, Steve Daniels (wife, Vickie), Russ Daniels (wife, Debbie) and Brent Daniels (wife, Maully); his grandchildren, Carrie Hafer, Lindsey Holcomb, Jeanne Jones, Cherry Smith, Jeremy Daniels, Shannon Snider, Ashley Johansen and Maysen Running; 15 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Evelyn Phillips, Helen Hoffbuhr, Virgil Daniels, Vernon Daniels, Eugene Daniels and Charlee Saboff. He will be greatly missed. Services will be held at a later date.
