Gregory David Sloan Profile Photo

Gregory David Sloan was born September 9, 1962, in Harrison Township, Michigan, to Samuel Thomas and Judith Alice Marr (Harold) Sloan. He grew up with two brothers and a sister. His family lived in the Sweet Home area when he was young and the Lebanon area when he was a teenager. He spent a year up in Alaska as a teen, but returned to Lebanon and graduated from Lebanon High School.  Greg worked for Knife River for a short time but worked over 20 years in wood products for Willamette Industries. The love of his life was his dog Pepper, a very lovable Shih Tzu.  Greg loved to fabricate by welding and enjoyed tinkering with cars. He was an avid collector of tools and would buy broken mowers and tillers so he could repair them. Greg was not afraid to tackle any job. He also enjoyed camping and being out in nature.  Greg was preceded in death by his father, his sister Laura J. Sloan, and his grandmother Gertrude I. Zurcher. He is survived by his mother Judith; siblings Steven Douglas Sloan of Spokane and Garry Dale Black of Albany; children Joshua Nicholas Sloan and Kimberly Lynn Sloan; grandchildren Zoey Westerman, Jensen  Snyder, Camden Sloan, and Chesa Sloan.
