There are condolences waiting approval on HAZEL's Tribute wall

Hazel Ruth Reames
Aug. 24, 1920- Oct.13, 2011
Stayton, Oregon

Hazel Ruth (Grammy) Reames, born in Fairview, Oklahoma, passed away early Thursday morning, October 13, after a short illness. She is now experiencing a well deserved rest with her Savior after spending most of her life serving others.

A wartime bride, Ruth married Roscoe in 1942. Together they raised a family of three daughters, Ann (Struble), lately of Dorris, California, Gail (Frame) currently residing in Penn Valley, California, and Robin (Pynch) of Stayton, Oregon who in turn raised families of their own. The result was 9 grandchildren and 7 great children whom she enjoyed immensely.

After living in Oklahoma, Washington, and California, Roscoe and Ruth settled in Stayton, Oregon where they have lived since 1985. They were very involved in the United Methodist Church of Stayton where they established many meaningful friendships. Roscoe preceded Ruth in death in the summer of 2003. Ruth’s only surviving brother, Bob Ross, currently lives in Edmond, Oklahoma.

Though Ruth was willing to do what outside work was needed over the years to help make ends meet, her true ambition revolved around hearth and home. She enjoyed the hours spent sewing, crafting, cooking and gardening. She made her home warm and welcoming for all and to the end of her 91 years stayed busy with those little chores that made life easier for others.

The family wishes to thank those dear friends who helped make Ruth’s life interesting and meaningful. May your investment in her life pay rich dividends!

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 16, at 2:30 pm at the United Methodist Church in Stayton, Oregon. Memorial contributions may be made to the camp scholarship fund or the kitchen fund in Ruth’s name to the Methodist Church.

Arrangements entrusted to Weddle Funeral Services Stayton, OR.
