Hayley Jean Crawford was born July 17, 1977, in Stayton, Oregon, to Nathan and Becky Crawford. Growing up, Hayley loved being in the water of the Little North Fork River. She became an excellent swimmer and took any opportunity she could to be in water. Any time Hayley spent in the water was considered happy times. She graduated from Stayton High School and held many different jobs throughout her life, but her absolute favorite was working in Silverton as an office assistant. She loved the short, beautiful commute and the people she worked with. As her cancer treatments no longer allowed her to work, that was one of the hardest changes she made in her life. But the job she loved the most was being a mom to her three children, Hannah, Hunter, and Jayz. They were the light of her life and being their mom gave her life so much more meaning. She also loved being a grandmother to Madalynn, whom she loved so much. One of the things Hayley enjoyed most was growing wildflowers because it was a "surprise to see what you get". Purple and sparkles and larger than life, Hayley’s presence was felt more than seen. You didn’t just hear her come through the house, you felt her like a cyclone. She was most definitely one of a kind. Even as a small child, Hayley was extremely strong willed and independent, in fact her first words were “Me do!”. Because of her intense will to live and the immeasurable love for her children, Hayley bravely fought cancer far beyond what was expected. Her life-long friend, Suzann Neuharth, was right by Hayley’s side through every step of her cancer journey and that support meant the world to Hayley and to her family. The cancer journey that began in 2012 ended for Hayley at 12:05 a.m. on June 17, 2020, at age 42, surrounded by her loving family. Hayley is survived by her parents Becky (Mark) Gescher and Nathan Crawford; sisters Heather and Hollie; children Hannah, Hunter, and Jayz; granddaughter Madalynn; and her friend Suzann Neuharth.
