Sprague and they moved to Albany, Oregon in 1942. They raised two children: son Eldon (and Kathey), and daughter Betty (and Lewis) Smith. There are 5 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Helen and Herman had been married 50+ years when he passed away in 1993. There are no siblings remaining and 2 granddaughters preceded her in death. Helen stayed in close contact with her nephews and nieces right up until her death.Helen loved to garden and be outside. Her lawns were always show-cases and many received fresh garden vegetables from her. She had a reputation as a master fisher. She volunteered at Meals on Wheels and worked at the Albany Safeway until the end of January this year. In years’ past, she also volunteered at area schools. A celebration of her long life will be held in May/June where her ashes will be spread in the ocean out of Depoe Bay.
