Issiah George De Leon Jeffers was born on June 22, 2002 in Salem, Oregon to Valentin and April De Leon. Issiah grew up in Salem and attended Hallman Elementary and Waldo Middle School. While at Waldo, Issiah made many close friends. While attending Waldo he participated in wrestling but really found his skill in football. Issiah became the MVP on his football team helping them stay undefeated. Later, he and his family moved to Stayton where he attended Stayton High School. For two years Issiah coached flag football in Stayton and loved working with the younger kids. He enjoyed helping them find their strength in sports. All through his life, Issiah loved football. The Seahawks were his favorite and he definitely was the 12th man. Wherever he went, Issiah made friends. Issiah had the most beautiful orange colored eyes and smile that charmed everyone he met. But equally Issiah was thoughtful, caring and devoted to anyone he considered family. Besides sports, he enjoyed working on low riders; his “dream car” was a 1952 Chevy Deluxe. His favorite type of music was rap but he also had a huge appreciation for old school music too. What some people may not know about Issiah is he was an exceptional poet and would write his poems in journals. When his aunt Donna died he wrote a special poem just for her. Issiah had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh with his friends and family. On May 9, 2019 Issiah passed away after a sudden accident and entered God’s loving arms. He is survived by his parents Valentin and April De Leon; siblings, Valentin Jr, Alicia and Cruzito; grandparents, Angie Ortega, Cheslee and Tammy Jeffers; niece, Camilla Cruz in addition to many aunts, uncles and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Samuel Rosillo and Aunt Donna. A viewing will be held on Friday, May 17, 2019 beginning at 9:45 am with a service to follow at 12pm. Interment will be at City View Cemetery at 3pm. In lieu of flowers a donation page was created on this site to help the family during this incredibly difficult time to help with all funeral related costs.
