James Leo Kosack was born on April 23, 1956 in Dallas, Oregon to Andrew and Effie Kosack. After his parents divorced, he would grow up going back and forth from Willamina and the Santiam Canyon.  Eventually he would attend Detroit High School where he would meet Vickie McCall.  These two high school sweethearts would marry on August 5, 1974 in Washington, starting 46 years of marriage and the welcoming of three children, Christopher, Chelsie and Sarah.   James had a good sense of humor and was funny to the end.  He worked at the Green Veneer Mill in Idanha early on in his life before transitioning to construction.  Later on, though he worked for the city of Detroit doing maintenance.  In his spare time, James loved being outdoors and was a general “Mountain Man”.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and camping.  Many of these things were with the grandkids and children. He also enjoyed trucks and going antique hunting.   On November 4, 2020 James went home to the Lord.  He is survived by his loving wife, Vickie; Children Christopher James Kosack, Chelsie Lynn (Drew) Moretz, and Sarah Louise Kosack; Grandchildren, Amber, Rashell, Haley, Vanessa, Lexie, Faith, Emmaly, Jaysin, Benjamin, and Abigale; 3 Great-grandchildren; Sisters, Georgia Kosack, and Andra Kosack; and his beloved Dog, Toby.
