Jerry Lee Flanary was born on November 10, 1956 in Newport, Oregon to Gerald and May Ann (Baccon) Flanary. One of four children, Jerry would eventually join the United States Army where he honorably served from 1974 to 1976. During that time, Jerry became a Green Barret, sharpshooter, boxer and did border patrol. Some of his duty time included being stationed in Bamberg, Germany. In addition to his military service, he also attended culinary school, he was a fantastic cook who made everything excellent! Although, he would not lead a career as a chef, Jerry found that he was mechanically inclined. He would own his own companies doing painting and RV repair. Jerry would work until just almost a year ago this July when he retired. Jerry was lucky enough to meet Dawn Blair 38 years ago, they enjoyed numerous fun adventures in Newport either camping or crabbing. They also enjoyed watching NASCAR together. On November 14, 2020, they married in Turner, Oregon. On May 9, 2021, Jerry passed away in the comfort of his home in Turner at age 64. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and May Ann. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Dawn; children, Jerry Lee Flanary, Jr. and Cherish May Flanary; lots of grandchildren; siblings, Randy Flanary, Shirley Carden; Deberah Clevenger. In lieu of flowers, Dawn suggests donations be made to the ALS Foundation to further knowledge and research.
