John Corwin Eells Sr. was born March 28, 1936, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Corwin Castetter and Alma Faye (Secrest) Eells. He proudly served three years in the Marine Corps during the Korean conflict. Shortly after being honorably discharged from service, John met Georgia Olive House at the Toot-N-Tell drive-in, and the rest is history. The couple married on May 6, 1960, at the Northside Nazarene Church in Nampa, Idaho, and raised two children together. John attended Oregon Technical Institute in Klamath Falls from 1963-1964 and earned an associate’s degree in diesel technology. He worked for Papé Cat in Redmond, Oregon as a field mechanic from 1976 until 1998 when he retired. John and Georgia lived in Idaho and Washington for a time before settling in Oregon for the past 44 years, most recently in Redmond. John enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, hunting, boating, fishing, playing bingo with his daughter, and taking scenic drives with his wife. He was a loyal family man and he made it his mission to stay in touch with those closest to him. He was a member of the Teamsters, Elks, American Legion, Operating Engineers, and the VFW. On May 30, 2020, John passed away suddenly while visiting family in the valley. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Dixie (Eells) Bledsoe. John will be deeply missed by the family he leaves behind including his beloved wife Georgia; children Belinda Cristine Eells (& Darrel) and John Corwin Eells Jr (& Diana); grandchildren Corwin Dillon Eells (& Jenna) and Bryson Lee Eells (& Breanna); great-grandchildren Bentley Corwin Eells and arriving in October 2020, Liam John Eells; and siblings Dennis Eells of Nampa, Idaho, and Rick Eells of Eagle Idaho.
