Obituary for Kent Lee Yarbrough

Kent Lee Yarbrough was born on October 11, 1974 in Eugene, Oregon to Donnie and Laura Yarbrough. From the very beginning, Kent was known to have a bigger than life personality and made friends wherever he went or lived. He obtained his GED and afterwards, became a painter and did this for several years. Kent was also a jack of all trades, and pretty much could figure out anything or do anything.
He met his wife, Darla 10 years ago and would tell people she was the “most expensive thing at the yard sale”. They were literally each other’s rock and had a special connection. With their union, Kent became a father to his young children, Noah and Emma. He loved and adored his children and would do anything for them. He would often tell people his kids were wrapped around each one of his pinkies.
Kent had a wonderful sense of humor but also could be a jokester as well. As the line goes in the Tom Petty song “Joker”, Kent was “a joker, smoker and midnight toker”. He would self-describe himself as a “redneck hillbilly” but the truth was, Kent had a big heart hidden by the tough guy exterior. He was also a devoted friend and adopted many nieces and nephews. He was “Uncle Kent” to numerous kids and he could get away with spoiling them. He was never afraid to be a big kid himself.
Kent loved to have fun, so if it included 4 wheelers, dirt bikes and some Coors Light you could count Kent on being there. But more than anything being with his family and friends was the single most important thing to him and what kept him going during his fight with cancer.
A few years ago, Kent’s best friend Brad passed away in an automobile accident. Kent’s kids said that on September 30, 2018 Kent became a star next to Brad’s.
He is survived by his wife, Darla; children, Noah and Emma; brothers, Terry, Dennis and Michael in addition to his numerous nephews, nieces and friends that were truly his family in every sense of the word.
A Party in his honor is being planned at a later date. #FuckCancer
