Sublimity – Leila, 86, passed away at Marion Estates. She was born October 10, 1932 to Frank and Vivian (Grey) White in Akron, Colorado. Her family moved to Oregon when she was young. She attended Elkhorn, Mehama, and Stayton schools. In July 1949, Leila married Gerald Rockwell in her parent’s home in Mehama, Oregon. She was a dedicated wife and mother to her husband and three children. Leila’s passion was cooking. She was head cook at Stayton Union High School and Marian Estates at different times in her life. She also loved arts and crafts. She owned a craft store in Lyons for a few years and loved talking with her customers. Leila became very involved in family genealogy in her later years. She spent many hours researching the family’s history. She taught herself how to use a computer which helped in the research. Leila is preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Gerald Rockwell, her parents Frank and Vivian White and her sister Mary Ellen Spencer. Leila is survived by her sister Lois Milosch, her children and grandchildren, Frank (Lili) Rockwell, Brian and Jessica, Randy (Jamie) Rockwell, Randy and Kristi, Diana Porter, Joshua Ramsey and Jacob Ramsey. There are also nine great grandchildren. Private family services will be held. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society
