Melvin Lloyd Southworth was born on August 3, 1944 in Parma, Idaho to Chester and Vivian (Harris) Southworth. He was one of 7 other siblings, his family lived in Idaho until he was in elementary school and later moved to Utah where He attended Davis High School where he was a track star and graduated in 1961. He met Carol Lynneluff in 1988 and instantly they became a pair after many years together they decided to married on December 23, 2002 in Farmington, Utah. In October of 2012, Melvin and Carol moved to Oregon. Throughout his professional life, Melvin did long haul and local truck driving. When not working, Melvin enjoyed fishing, camping, laughing, and whisker rubs. He enjoyed football very much and was an avid Broncos fan. His wife Carol writes, “On March 20, 2019 I lost the love of my life, my best friend, father to my children and grandfather to my great grandchildren. I loved this man over half my life and I’m going to miss him the rest of mine. RIP sweetness until we meet again. Thank you to the Southworth Family and his children.” Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, aunts and uncles; siblings, Alta and Joanne. He is survived by his wife, Carol; children, Jenny (Jason), Melissa (Cody), Nikki (Jake) Jeff (Kattie), Bryce (Jackie), Pam; grandchildren, Amber Lee (Tylan), Taylor Jean, Kaelee, Cody, Brayden, Wesley, Austin, Blake, Serina, Chloe, Dylan, Connor and Bella; great-grandchildren Rylan Bryce, Lawson Jeffery in addition to his siblings Dorthy, Lorene, Dwain, Laveda and Virginia.
