Obituary for Robert "Bob" McKenna

Robert “Bob” McKenna was born on February 24, 1932 in Boston Massachusetts. Bob grew up and attended school on the east coast. He eventually enlisted in 1952 in the Air Force and served during the Korean War until he was honorably discharged in 1956.

Bob would later decide to move to the west coast where he could enjoy his love for sail boats. He would work at Boeing as a machinist for several years, until he was laid off.

Bob would meet the love of his life and best friend, Margaret in 1990. They would share a passion for traveling across the United States and Canada as long haul truck drivers after his lay off from Boeing. Besides traveling, they shared a passion for motorcycles as well. They would visit every single Harley Davidson shop they could and the original shop in Albany, Oregon was their favorite (because they served donuts!) and taking trips to Sturges.

Bob loved fast cars, fast boats and fast motorcycles. He also loved Dr. Who and even up until his passing was watching his favorite show- Jeopardy.

Bob passed away on December 19, 2020 at the age of 88 in Salem, Oregon after a brief illness.

He was preceded in death by his step daughter Carrie Proud-Meyer. He is survived by his wife, Margaret McKenna; step daughter, Kimberly Meyer; grandchildren, Alexis Hoffman and Anahya Meyer in addition to many close friends he made over the years.
