Robert Lee “Bubba” Spencer, age 68, passed away peacefully at his home in Sublimity on May 17, 2020. Bob was born on September 28, 1951 in Salem, Oregon. He was the son of James and Lois Overfield. He grew up in the Salem area, where he attended Liberty Elementary School and Leslie Middle School. He attended South Salem High School. After High School, he went to work for Truitt Brother’s as a Metal Fabricator. After a 20-year career with them, he started his own business, “Spencer Trucking”. It was a family affair, and his children have fond memories of helping Bob and Diane with the family business. He retired and moved to Sublimity after 15+ years in the business. Bob had many hobbies and interests: he loved everything related to cars including car shows, drag strips and hot rods. He enjoyed going to the dunes, camping and being in nature. He was a talented metal fabricator and enjoyed working with his hands. Above all, Bob loved and adored his wife of 39 years, Diane, his children and grandchildren. Bob gave the best hugs ever! His kind spirit will be missed by all who knew him. Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Diane Spencer; his children, Charles Spencer (wife, Kristy), Dustin Spencer (partner, Brianna Carmichael) and Tiffany Spencer; and his grandchildren, Tierra Owen, Reese Martinez-Salgado, Makinzie Martinez-Salgado, Jackson Martinez-Salgado, Grayson Martinez-Salgado, Clayton Carmichael and David Lee Spencer (to be born in September 2020)! Services will be held at a later date.
