Ronald Edgar Woodward

Ronald Edgar Woodward was born on July 23, 1932 in Cassile, Alberta, Canada to Vivian Lenore Carpenter and Merritt Ord Woodward. He was the eighth of twelve children. With his family around him, he went home to our Lord on July 10, at Salem Memorial Hospital due to complications of double pneumonia. Ron graduated from Nehalem High School in 1950 and enlisted in the United States Air Force that same year. He was honorably discharged on November 3, 1953. He married Mildred Louise Bailey and had three daughters with her. He has 11 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren, and one great great grandson. He worked as a dairyman, roofer, pipe layer, and retired from the Construction Laborer's Local. He later went to work in the cannery. He was always working in some way or another. He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, seven brothers, two sisters and one son-in-law. He loved the Lord. He was witnessing to all he met even at the end in the hospital. He loved his family and would do anything for them and for his friends. He was active in the church and with gleaners. He loved farming and raising animals. He wrote songs and loved to sing them. He wanted everyone to know our Savior Jesus Christ. His greatest wish was to see all of his family and friends again someday in Heaven. He was loved by everyone that knew him. He always told us that there was no such thing as a stranger to him, just someone that he hadn't had a chance to talk to yet. In the hospital he was hugging every nurse that he could. He told them, "A hug is an unspoken prayer." There is a space in this world that will forever be empty without him. The best we can do is to honor his memory and carry on his ministry. A celebration of life will be held on August 4, 2018 at 11am at the Church of God of Prophecy 10637 Stayton Road. Aumsville, OR 97325.
