Rosemary was born on August 26, 1930 in Denver Colorado to Robert and Irene (McDonald) Shattuck. She was raised in Salem, Oregon and after high school married and began a family. Rosemary was blessed with being the mother to six children. She loved to take care of her family and was a hard worker. After she and her husband separated, Rosemary went to work at Fairview and eventually went to night school so she could get her LPN license. Eventually, in the1980s she would begin working night shift at the Oregon State Hospital. She would continue working there until her retirement Rosemary enjoyed time with her grandbabies and lots of card games. She loved to play bunco, bingo, pinnacle and anything that kept her social. In her 40s thru 60s she loved to square dance. She had a Monday and Saturday group that she would regularly go and play games. She was a fierce competitor but never cheated, she let her skills do all the talking. In addition to playing cards and watching her grandbabies, she was a member of St. Vincent’s Catholic Church, where she attended for many years. Rosemary was loved by many friends and neighbors that she made over the years. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on February 2, 2020 at age 89 in Salem, Oregon. She was preceded in death by three of her children, Ray, Diane and Rosie. She is survived by her children, David, Marlene and James; 9 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
