Sarah Jane Spurgeon

In loving memory of Sarah Jane Spurgeon  In the early morning of December 5, 2020, Sarah Jane Spurgeon peacefully made the journey to be with her parents Kenneth W. and Ruth Jones in heaven. Sarah was born on April 21, 1936 in Springfield, Il. Sarah loved her three siblings, Joanne Genske, Kenneth Jones, and Martha Tipton. Sarah married the love of her life, Gene L. Spurgeon, on August 15, 1957 in Omaha, Nebraska. Gene and Sarah raised 6 children, Vicki Rhoades, Edward Spurgeon, Robin Couture, James Spurgeon, Wenda Shinall Noreen, and Jonathan Spurgeon. Who gave her thirteen grandchildren, Charlene, Rene, Lee, Michelle, Melissa, Nicholas, Daniel, Theodore, Crystal, Marsha, Cassie, Jessica and Tara, and many great grandchildren. Sarah was a resident of Oregon for the last 55 years. Sarah drove a school bus and later worked for the state of Oregon. Sarah was preceded in death by her beloved daughter in law, Dorothy and son in law, Richard Noreen. Sarah loved sewing, gardening, baking with her grand and great grandchildren (and sampling the treats!), art and Christmas. Sarah was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Our tears will fade, but Sarah will live on in our hearts and memories until we meet again.  Memorial contributions can be made to Shriners Children's Hospital in Sarah’s honor.
