Tom is the beloved first born of Thomas Francis Cole Sr. and Joyce Marie Sullivan Cole. Tom was born on October 29, 1954 in Boise, Idaho. His Cole lineage goes all the way back to early settler James Cole (1633) of Plymouth Mass. Tom was a loving husband, father and friend. He passed away at age 63 on March 9, 2018 at his home in Mill City, Oregon. He is survived by his wife Nancy Ann Sobanski Cole, his mother Joyce, his brothers Randall and Mark, and his three sons Thomas Francis Cole III, Christoffer Wood Cole and William Sullivan Cole. Tom gravitated towards music early in life and his love for it affected everyone around him. For over 40 years he performed with his best friend, Joe, in the successful duo “Stoddard and Cole”. He was an esteemed member of The Orpheus Club of Philadelphia for over 20 years and sang in many choirs. On top of his love for performance, he was a gifted music teacher adored by his students. Tom met his beloved wife Nancy in July of 1994 country line dancing at the KP Corral. They married on June 29,1996 in Radnor, PA, and over the years made several places their home including Phoenixville, Valley Forge and Dauphin, PA. For the past 7 years, they have found their paradise in Mill City, OR. Beyond the music, Tom will be known for his incredible heart, which he openly wore on his sleeve, his sky blue eyes that could brighten a rainy day and a smile that held dimples he would consistently brag about. To all who knew and loved him; he will be missed, but always around. You may find him in the least suspected or most obvious of places, because that’s Tom.
