Thomas “Tom” Anderson, born on August 9, 1953, in Billings, Montana, to Betty Jean (Harvey) and Edward “Pete” Anderson, passed away on June 21, 2024. Tom’s life was marked by resilience, love, and a sense of humor that brightened the lives of those around him.

As a long-haul flatbed truck driver out of Montana for 40 years, Tom crisscrossed the country, carrying cargo and stories from coast to coast. Tom lived in both Montana and in West Stayton, Oregon for 48 years with his wife Debbie, but home in Tom's heart was always Montana.

Tom’s work ethic extended beyond the road. In his youth, he toiled at DeVries Dairy and Rose and Ferry farms, moving irrigation pipes and harvesting crops. Tom also worked at Philips Products for 8 years as supervisor of the axle line. His hands were skilled not only at driving trucks but also at crafting canes and walking sticks.

Beyond work, Tom had a passion for collecting die-cast cars, old marbles, and dice. He cherished these small treasures, finding joy in their details. But perhaps his greatest treasure was his family. Known affectionately as “Uncle Tom,” he was a beloved figure to nieces, nephews, and friends’ children alike. His playful spirit and quick wit made him a favorite at family gatherings and community events.

Tom is survived by his wife Debbie Anderson and siblings: Peggy Smith, Rick Anderson, Brenda Harris, Cathy Malone, Sue Anderson, and Pete Anderson. Their memories of Tom will live on, along with the laughter he shared and the love he gave. He joins his parents, Pete and Betty, in eternal rest, along with his brother Roy Anderson, sister Nancy Meier, nephew Baby Brian, niece Ashlee, father-in-law Bud Leseman, and step dad Bill Johnson.

In honoring Tom’s memory, let us remember the joy he brought to our lives and the legacy he leaves behind. May his spirit continue to make us smile, even as we mourn his passing.
