Corvallis- Virginia “Ginny” Morse was born September 20, 1935, in Muskegon, Michigan, to Bruce and Virginia (Carmean) Baker. Ginny grew up in Michigan with two sisters and one brother. She married Arthur Morse on November 21, 1952, in Muskegon. Ginny raised seven children before attending cosmetology school, earning her license, and working at Meyer Hair Salon in Muskegon, Michigan. Ginny also lived in Bradenton, Florida, and Hesperia, Michigan, before heading out west and settling in Corvallis. Ginny was an incredibly creative woman and an accomplished artist and hung her paintings in many galleries in Corvallis and Oregon State University. She was also featured on the front page of the Corvallis Gazette that told the story of her life as an artist. Ginny also enjoyed gardening, thrift store shopping, painting, home decorating, playing the guitar, and singing. Family was everything to Ginny and she cherished time spent with them especially playing cards. She also loved a taking road trips around Oregon, just taking in the beautiful landscapes the state offers. At the age of 85, Ginny passed away in Albany, Oregon, on January 24, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Robert Baker, and her sister Elna Smith. Ginny is survived by her husband Arthur Morse; children Sharon (Ken) Polidan, Theresa Griffith, Keith (Angie) Morse, Rodney (Dixie) Morse, Virginia (Scott) Visser, Jolynn (Rob) Deitrich, and Lainey Morse; grandchildren Scott Bingamin, Kenny Polidan, Edie Polidan, Cameron Polidan, Ceilia (Travis) Thurston, Virginia (Terence) McKenna, Rodney Morse Jr, Kiley Sluis, Joshua Grant, Virginia (Steve) Whitmire, Quenton (Heather) Visser, Allena (Mike) Staley, Amanda Edwards, Nathan Seites, and Joslyn (Beau) Plouhar-Serry; great-grandchildren Jacob Bingamin, Shamus Thurston, Noah Thurston, Oiliver Thurston, Parker McKenna, Madison McKenna, Blake McKenna, Grant Whitmire, Virginia Whitmire, Sawyer Whitmire, Audri Staley, Harper Staley, Ireana Edwards, Ayla Edwards, Carter Serry, and Emma Serry; and her sister, Linda Richards.
