Andy J. Medcalf, beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, husband and cherished member of the community, passed away peacefully in Sublimity, Oregon on March 26, 2024 after a brief illness. Born on August 20, 1959, in Shelton, Washington, Andy was the son of Mary Ellen (Morgan) and James Otto Medcalf. He grew up alongside his siblings Mark, Dean, and Danny, fostering deep bonds and enduring memories.
After graduating from Shelton High School in 1977, Andy embarked on a noble journey of service, joining the United States Navy from 1981 to 1984, stationed in San Francisco. In 1985, he made Oregon his home, where he remained until his passing.
Andy was not only a dedicated serviceman but also a successful entrepreneur. In 2010, he founded Andy Medcalf Construction Company, which thrived under his guidance. His commitment and hard work propelled the company to prominence, earning him widespread recognition within the community.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Andy found joy in various pursuits. He was an avid golfer, a passionate pheasant hunter, and a devoted family man. Vacations were cherished moments, and he seized every opportunity to create lasting memories with loved ones. Known for his kindness and generosity, Andy touched the lives of many, leaving a profound impact wherever he went.
Andy is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; his children Josh (Liz) Medcalf and Meagen (James) Healy, Tyler (Terrie) Haworth, Jordan (Christina) Haworth; grandchildren, Tilden, Maizey, Ivy, Reece, Quinn, Graham, Hudson and his best companion, Mollie. Andy leaves behind a multitude of relatives and friends who will deeply miss him.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Weddle Funeral Service located at 1777 N. Third Ave. Stayton, OR 97383.
