Barbara Doris Wolford, a devoted caregiver, spirited companion, and beloved mom and grandma, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025. Born on April 1, 1945, to Alberta (Stiffler) and Adolph Krosman, Barbara's life was marked by compassion, resilience, and a deep love for her family.
Raised in the small town of Scio, Oregon, Barbara attended school there until the ninth grade, laying the foundation for a life rooted in service and connection. In her twenties and thirties, she lived in Stayton, Aumsville and Salem. She was a homemaker and worked in the fields with her mother.
In her forties, Barbara moved to the Lyons and Mill City areas and would become a CNA. Her gentle touch and unwavering dedication to the elderly made her a cherished presence among residents and staff alike. Even after retirement, she remained a steadfast caregiver, offering her time and heart to neighbors and friends in need. Her generosity extended beyond duty-it was simply who she was.
Barbara found joy in life's simple pleasures: swimming in Oregon's rivers, playing pool with friends, and spending treasured moments with her family.
Her laughter echoed through gatherings, and her warmth made every room feel like home.
She is survived by, her brother Albert, and her children Angelina (Marc) Halseth and Norman Hice. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren Julia, Casey, Shayla, Meria, Norman, Taylor, Hope, Lily, and Garrett, and her twelve great-grandchildren. Barbara also leaves behind her loyal dog and best friend, Jack, who rarely left her side during her illness.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alberta and Adolph, her loving husband Johnny, and her son Brian Rendon, whose memory she carried tenderly in her heart.
Barbara's life was a testament to kindness, strength, and devotion. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, and her spirit will continue to inspire those she loved.
