Bonnie Kay Newbill

Bonnie Kay Newbill (Marion), born December 4, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away on July 24, 2026. She was the 5th child of Donald Ira Marion and Janette (Stevens) Marion, and grew up in the Chicago area, where she formed the early bonds and experiences that shaped her warm, nurturing nature. Bonnie graduated from Bloom High School in Chicago.

In time, Bonnie moved to the Pacific Northwest to raise her children in the Santiam canyon. Eventually making her home in Stayton, where , In 1997, she married Dan Newbill beginning a partnership marked by companionship, steadiness, and shared devotion to family.

Bonnie had a lifelong love for children and spent many years providing child care, touching countless young lives with her patience, kindness, and gentle guidance. Her dedication extended into her work with the Santiam School District and the Molalla School District. Her ability to make children feel safe, valued, and understood was one of her greatest gifts.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Dan Marion and Raymond Marion, whose memories she carried close to her heart.

Bonnie is survived by her children Amy (William) Allen, Sarah (James) Ulin, and Ben Foster; and by her grandchildren Trent (Cass) Stafford, Trevor (Lacie) Stafford, Teagan (Gabby) Allen, Samone (Carl) Wyatt, Savannah (Ryan) Hernandez, Sydney Ulin, Jayden Foster, and Aubrey Foster. She is further survived by her great‑grandchildren Carter, Charlotte, Clover, Ellie, Theo, Bennett, and Maddy, each of whom brought her immense joy. Her sister, Donna Hallmark, also survives her.

Bonnie will be lovingly remembered by numerous friends and family. She will be deeply missed.
