Brian Kroese, 61, of Albany, Oregon, passed away on June 23, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born and raised in Albany, Brian spent his entire life in the community he loved. He graduated from South Albany High School in 1983 and built a career defined by hard work and dedication. He served as a store manager for Safeway before spending many years at Hewlett Packard in Corvallis as a Project Operator and Line Lead, where he was respected for his strong work ethic and leadership.
On February 15, 1997, he married the love of his life, Stacey. Their marriage was built on unwavering love, laughter, and partnership. Brian embraced Stacey's two sons, Jacob and Jeremy, as his own, raising them with patience, love, and guidance into the fine young men they are today. There was never a question—they were his boys.
Brian had a spontaneous streak that made life exciting. Whether it meant heading to the Oregon coast in the middle of the night or taking an impromptu trip to Reno, he believed that the best adventures didn't always need a plan. Those who knew him will forever treasure the memories of his sense of humor and ability to make light of a bad situation.
Over the past several years, Brian fought cancer with incredible courage and determination. Time and again, he met each challenge head-on, refusing to let the disease define him. While his body ultimately grew tired, his heart, spirit, and love for those around him never wavered. His resilience inspired everyone who had the privilege of walking beside him.
Brian is survived by his beloved wife, Stacey; his sons, Jacob (Samantha) Kroese and Jeremy Johanson; his mother, Nora Kroese; his father, Gary (Myrna) Kroese; his brother, Dwayne (Donna) Kroese; his sister, Sonya Kroese; his nieces, Andrea Kroese and Marissa Kroese; his nephews, Sawyer Dean and Robbie (Charity) Durkee; and his faithful dog, Tucker.
He was preceded in death by his nephew, Tony Garboden.
Brian will be remembered for his generous heart, his quick wit, his love of adventure, his fierce devotion to his family, and his quiet strength. He leaves behind countless memories that will continue to bring comfort and smiles to those who loved him.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to help offset funeral expenses. Your generosity and support are deeply appreciated during this difficult time.
