Buddy Edwin Timms, Sr., age 80, of Aumsville, Oregon, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2025, at Battle Creek Memory Care in Salem.

Born the day after Christmas on December 26, 1944, in California to Elmo Timms and Ludia, Buddy was one of four brothers. After losing his mother at the age of 12, his family relocated to the Ozarks in Missouri before returning to California. At 17, Buddy proudly joined the United States Army, serving with the 3rd Infantry in Spain, Germany, and Chicago. He was honorably discharged in 1968.

Buddy went on to enjoy a long career as a high-voltage lineman with the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) until his retirement. In 2004, he fulfilled a dream of living in Oregon, eventually settling on a property in Aumsville.

He loved working with his hands,doing woodworking, and helping friends build homes. He purchased his dream car—a 1937 black Chevy, and enjoyed working on it in his spare time. He was a devoted father and grandfather, known for his generosity, wit, and warm heart. He especially loved visiting Lake Powell, Utah, where he made cherished memories with his family.

Buddy is survived by his children: Buddy Jr., Michelle Timms Hagerty, and Eric Timms; his brother, Timmy; and grandchildren, Michael and Crystal. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Harold and Randy.
