Candace Lynn Armstrong

Candace was born in Myrtle Point, Oregon, to parents Robert L. and Lorna L. Johnson. She passed away at her home in Sublimity, Oregon.

She is survived by her parents; daughter Emily (Kyle) Galapir, and grandchildren Jared, Kylie and Jase Galipir.

Other survivors include her step-son Steven (Holly) Armstrong; grandchildren Lucas & Eliza, as well as her brother Mitchell Johnson and also her niece Nicole (Garrett) Bush and their children Sophie and Garrett Jr. Also surviving are her aunt Vicki Hedrick, uncles Douglas Johnson, and Gary Sims.

Grandparents James Johnson and Doris Sims preceded her in death, along with R. S. (Jeff) & (Evelyn) Lynn and George and Anna Zeigler, and nephew Jeremy Johnson.

Also her Uncle Bill Hedrick, Uncle Wayne & Aunt Lorene Pearson, Uncle Michael Johnson, Aunt Joni Johnson, and Uncle Kendall Johnson.

“She could both outtalk you, and also outrun you!” Candace “never learned to walk,” preferring to run instead. She was highly competitive, and excelled in every sport that she ever tried. As a sophomore at North Bend High School, she took 13th place in the State in the high dive. She graduated from Newport High School, class of 1977, where she was a straight-“A” student.

She worked as bartender. She also fell in love with Hawaii!

Candace will be sorely missed by her family and her many friends.
