Carol Marie Brumbaugh, 77, passed away on November 4, 2019 in Albany, Oregon. She was born on March 6, 1942 in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota to Ardell and Marie (Gillespie) Nyberg. Carol married Roland “Ron” Brumbaugh on December 28, 1959 in Washington. In June of 1959, she graduated from Woodburn High School, and they started a family. They had 3 children: Tammy, Greg and R.J. Carol was an accomplished racehorse trainer. She spent 25 years as a trainer, and she loved her racetrack family dearly. She was a member of the Salem First Church Of Nazarene, and her church family was an important part of her life. She loved to garden plants and flowers. Nobody had a kinder heart or bigger smile than Carol. Carol is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Roland Brumbaugh; children, Tammy Boag, Greg Brumbaugh and R.J. Brumbaugh; siblings, Diane Self, Mark Nyberg and Jerry Nyberg; grandchildren, Jessica Brumbaugh, Breanna Boag, Lindsey Brumbaugh-Derksen, Madi Ehrmantraut and Jake Ehrmantraut; as well as a huge extended family. She will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Carol’s Life will be held on January 26, 2020 at 2:30 pm at the Salem First Church Of The Nazerene, 1550 Market Street NE, Salem, Oregon 97301.
