Carolyn Vifquain, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away leaving behind a legacy of faith, resilience, and devotion to family and community.

Born on September 1, 1938, in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, Carolyn was the daughter of Peggy Jube and William Parks. At the age of 11, her family relocated to Oregon, where she grew up and graduated from South Eugene High School.

In Reno, Nevada, Carolyn married J. R. Vifquain, and together they built a family filled with love and laughter. They were blessed with five children: Shannon Stevens, Kelly Raymond, Joe Parks, Walter Parks, and Mary Parks. Carolyn’s devotion to her children and later her grandchildren was the cornerstone of her life.

Professionally, Carolyn was a trailblazer. She owned and operated C&J Enterprises Trucking Broker, and in 1971, she became the first female manager of Diamond Parking in Eugene, Oregon.

Beyond her career, Carolyn’s passions enriched her community. From 1960 to 1986, she was a proud member of the Eugene Highlander bagpipe band, sharing her love of music and Scottish heritage. She also participated in Scottish dance performances, painted ceramics, and enjoyed camaraderie in the toll painter bowling league. Carolyn was a member of Dr. Virginia Phillips Co. Women of Purpose, where she found fellowship and inspiration.

Her faith was central to her life. Carolyn loved God deeply and lived as an evangelist, sharing her devotion with those around her.

Carolyn is survived by her children, Shannon, Kelly, Joe, Walter, and Mary; her cherished grandchildren Ashley Croghen, Ryan Bires, Breanne Shultz, Rebecca Parks, Elizabeth Parks, Riley Parks, and Weston Parks; and her sister Shirley Misner as well as many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Peggy and William, and her siblings Lee Parks and Dehlia Parks.
