November 9, 1949 – April 30, 2026
Crittenden James Tuttle, III (C.J.) went home to be with the Lord on April 30, 2026. He was born on November 9, 1949, to Crittenden and Nadeane (Mahaffey) Tuttle in Stockton, California. He married Linda Kay Koutnik on May 19, 1973 in San Jose, California. In 1977, the couple moved to Oregon to raise their family. He is survived by his three children: Crittenden J. (fiancée Angela E. Marie ) Tuttle, IV of Portland, Oregon, John L. (Erika) Tuttle of Dexter, Michigan, and Katherine E. (David) Shaffer of Sublimity Oregon; twelve grandchildren: Lillian, Linus and Aldous Tuttle; Katherine, Gretchen, Zita, Fulton, Agnes, Mitzi and Tristan Tuttle; and Ian and Hannah Shaffer; and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Lynda J. Creedy of Armidale, Australia, niece, Sara (Tim) Thorn, and nephew, David (Kate Little) Creedy. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers Michael R. Tuttle and William H. Tuttle.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held May 12, 2026 at 11 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Sublimity. Interment will follow Mass in Sublimity.
