Dagmar Marie Grieve, born January 27, 1954, in Keokuk, Iowa, lived a life defined by service, quiet strength, and steadfast devotion to the people she loved. The daughter of Margaret R. Anderson and Robert B. Mason, Dagmar grew up in Keokuk and graduated with the Keokuk High School Class of 1972.

Shortly after graduation, Dagmar moved to Arlington, Virginia, where she began an extraordinary chapter working for the Central Intelligence Agency from 1972 to 1975. Her commitment to duty and her sharp, steady presence made her a trusted colleague during those early years of her career. In 1975, she relocated to Oregon and began what would become more than three decades of dedicated service with the Oregon State Police. From 1976 until her retirement in 2007, Dagmar brought integrity, compassion, and unwavering professionalism to her work, earning the respect of coworkers and community members alike.

After retiring, Dagmar continued to build a life rooted in family and connection. She moved to Salem in 1975 before settling in Aumsville in 2019, where she spent her later years surrounded by the people and places that brought her comfort and joy.

Dagmar’s greatest pride was her family. She is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth James Grieve; her children, Gabriel James Robert Grieve and Adam Mason Grieve (Karla); and her cherished grandchildren, Peter and Dharma, who brought light and laughter into her life. She is also survived by her siblings Sandy Adams, Robin Mason, Cheryl Lunardi, and Ryan Mason, each of whom held a special place in her heart. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Robert E. Mason.

Dagmar will be remembered for her quiet courage, her dedication to service, and the deep love she carried for her family. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the work she devoted herself to, and the memories held close by all who knew her.
