David Alan Hayes, 69, of Aumsville, passed away on April 27, 2026.

David was born on July 12, 1956, to Darrel and Harriet Hayes. He was raised in Aumsville, where he spent his entire life and built deep roots in the community he loved. On March 5, 1976, he married Sandra Weatherford in Reno, Nevada, and they shared 19 years of marriage together.

David worked as a millwright at Cascade Steel Mill, where he was known for his strong work ethic and his skill with his hands. He took pride in building and fixing things, always keeping busy and finding satisfaction in a job well done.

He had a deep love for the outdoors and cherished hunting and fishing with his brothers, children, grandchildren, and close friends. Those times brought him great joy, and if he could have chosen, he would have spent his life in the woods or by the water. Above all, David's greatest joy was his family, especially his granddaughters, Audrey, Nevaeh, and Breanna, who meant the world to him.

He is survived by his children, Michelle Hayes and David Hayes Jr.; his grandchildren, Nevaeh Hayes and Audrey Hayes; and his brothers, Larry Hayes and Bryan Hayes.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Darrell and Harriett Hayes; his brother, Steven Hayes; and his beloved granddaughter, Breanna Hayes.

David will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his hardworking spirit, and his love of the outdoors. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
