David Lee Garcia was born on February 18, 1954, in Inglewood, California to Ruben and Pauline (Nunez) Garcia. He was born and raised as a Californian. He would eventually begin the trade of woodworking and would make custom cabinets. For David, it was not just a job, it was his passion and he continued woodworking even into retirement. He would make his family custom pieces as well that they could treasure. In his younger years he would work on motorcycles and vans and his pride and joy was his “Mouse Factory” a 1974 Chevy. David would continue his love of working on vans even until now.
Five years ago, David decided to follow his family up to Oregon where he would make his home in Aumsville. It was during these last 5 years that he could dedicate himself to being the best father and a grandfather he could possibly be. He was able to attend his daughter’s wedding in the Bahamas and take a trip with his cousins to Hawaii. His life was full, and he was dedicated to connecting mind, body and spirit for his inner peace and better health. Throughout it all, David always maintained his good sense of humor.
Besides woodworking and his van, David loved to fish, draw, paint, watch NHRA drag racing and garden. He loved football and he was a Tampa Bay fan through and through. He also enjoyed Baseball and his team of choice was the Padre’s.
