Francis Anthony Geraci, born May 16, 1921, in Marion, Illinois, passed away February 22, 2024. The beloved son of Anthony Geraci and Grace Prince; the beloved step-son of Antonio Tipitino.
In youth, Frank joined the Civilian Conservation Corps before contributing to the WWII effort by enlisting in the US Navy. Having served honorably, his appreciation and love for his country never wavered. His dedication to duty gained him the respect of his superiors and peers, but he consistently redirected any appreciation meant for him to those who did not make it back.
On September 3, 1949, Frank wedded his true love, Lorraine Katke, at St. Priscilla Church, Chicago, Illinois, a marriage that lasted nearly 75 years and blessed them with two daughters: Linda Schuessler and Randi Bedard. As a father, Frank taught the worth of maintaining high moral values and integrity, with patience, love, and respect.
Frank cherished family gatherings, especially those including his grandchildren: Heather Lafortune, Bret Bedard, Keri Bedard, Chase Bedard, and Christopher Schuessler. He delighted in their growth as people, and his guidance helped make possible their accomplishments and milestones. His great-grandchildren: Dylan, Olivia, and Graham, he considered amongst his greatest blessings.
A skilled floor covering mechanic, Frank helped adorn the homes of multitudes in St. Louis, MO and La Habra, CA, before retiring to Cambria, CA and finally to Turner, OR, where for 31 years he dedicated himself to family, neighbors, and community.
Frank, affectionately nicknamed “Chick’ by his family, was a devoted older brother to Cass and Irene Geraci and he did not allow them, nor the stories of their lives, to be forgotten. He spoke of them often and with great reverence.
As the ship has passed over the horizon on Frank’s time with us, we take solace in knowing he’s been reunited with his departed loved ones: Irene, Heather, Randi, Cass and so many extended family members and friends touched by his presence.
May his soul rest peacefully. May his memory continue to inspire us. May the guidance he showed us always be there, forever in our hearts for us to continue to rely upon.
