Ginger, Kind, gentle, and loving soul passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Salem Hospital. She was 66 years old.

Born in Stayton, Oregon as the first baby of January 1st, 1959. Ginger was raised on the family farm in Gates, Oregon. Ginger, the daughter of Bernard D. & Wilma P. Bumgarner lived with her mom, Wilma until her mom died in 2012. She was a member of Gates Community Church where she shared smiles and found community with the church members.

Ginger embraced life with a joyful spirit, cherishing the simple pleasures of being with those she loved. She was happiest when celebrating birthdays and holidays. Enthusiastically marking special occasions with family. Ginger was selected by Make a Wish Foundation which sent Ginger and her parents to Disneyland for a vacation. She also got to go to Hawaii escorted by a caregiver.

One of her great pleasures was to go shopping where with two dollars she could buy anything she wanted.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Wilma Bumgarner. Ginger is survived by her loving brother, Phillip Bumgarner and his wife, Lou, as well as her four cherished nephews: Jason (Christine), Ryan (Emily), Andrew and Bryce (Erin) Bumgarner.

She leaves behind a legacy of gentle kindness that will be forever remembered by her family and all who knew her.

A service to celebrate Giner’s life will be held at Gates Community Church on November 15, 2025, at 2:00 PM. She will be placed in Fairview Cemetery, where she joins her parents.
