Gregory “George” Crispin, a devoted son, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 76 years old.
George was born on March 3, 1949, in Hayward, California, to George Gutierrez Crispin and Belle Moreno Crispin. Raised in a proud family whose roots trace back to Spain, George grew up grounded in faith, loyalty, hard work, and a deep respect for family traditions. He carried these values with him throughout his life and passed them on to the generations that followed.
A proud graduate of Pacific High School’s Class of 1967, George went on to attend Cal State Hayward, earning a degree in Business Administration and Accounting. A true “numbers man,” he built a career marked by integrity, discipline, and the respect of colleagues and friends alike. His steady work ethic and sharp mind defined his professional life, but it was his unique character that truly set him apart.
Beyond his career, George lived fully and passionately. He was an avid golfer and a lifelong sports enthusiast. A faithful, lifelong fan of the Raiders and the Oakland A’s, he later became a devoted supporter of the Portland Trail Blazers after moving to Oregon. George rarely missed an opportunity to watch a televised golf match or share his thoughts on the latest season. Sports were not just entertainment for him, they were a connection point, a way to gather, to bond, and to share meaningful moments with family and friends.
George was also a creative thinker. He wrote a screenplay titled Adventures of Aaron and authored a novel, The Three Cresents, reflecting his imaginative mind and love of storytelling. Whether enjoying a game of Keno with a glass of wine in hand, listening to music, or reminiscing about childhood memories, George found joy in life’s simple pleasures.
He was also a true foodie and a wonderful cook who loved bringing people together around a good meal. George took pride in sharing cherished family recipes and teaching the cooking techniques he had learned growing up. For him, food was another way of showing love.More than anything, George treasured his family. He found his greatest happiness in sharing stories, offering guidance, and celebrating life’s milestones. His wisdom created a lasting foundation of love and the importance of family for generations to come. He was a steady presence, proud of his family and always ready with advice or encouragement whenever it was needed.
George is survived by the mother of his children, Susan West, his loving children, Jennifer Pierce, son-in-law Anthony Pierce, and Greg Crispin; his grandchildren, Kayla, Khoti, Miranda, Mayah, and Gabriel; his great-grandchildren, Micah, Greyson, Chloe, and Teddy; his beautiful sisters, Gaile Crispin Stuart and Dori Crispin Vigil; his sister-in-law, Craig Haynes; his nephews, Jason, Jared, Thomas, and Kai; his cousins, Rafaela Morillas Brescia, Maria Morillas Brown, and Tony Morillas; along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
A memorial service celebrating George’s life will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026, at 1:00 PM at The Oregon Garden, 879 W. Main Street, Silverton, Oregon 97381.
