Irene Annette Murphy, who went by Annette, was born July 16, 1942, in San Diego, California, and passed away peacefully on May 19, 2026, in Sublimity, Oregon. She was the beloved daughter of Mabel Brown and Paul Bass, and from her earliest days she carried a gentle strength and a steadfast spirit that would guide her throughout her life.

Annette was a woman whose faith was both her foundation and her compass. She pursued her love of Scripture with dedication, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Bible Studies, a reflection of her deep commitment to understanding and living out God’s word.

While raising her children remained her greatest joy and calling, Annette also worked for Microfilm Saif Co., where she was known for her reliability, her kindness, and her steady work ethic.

Annette had a gift for creating comfort and connection in the simplest of ways. She loved crocheting, crafting blankets and keepsakes that wrapped her family in warmth long after they were made. She was an avid researcher of family history, spending countless hours tracing roots, preserving stories, and honoring the generations who came before her. And she was famous among those who loved her for baking the best oatmeal cookies, a treat that carried the unmistakable flavor of home.

Her greatest pride and deepest love were her children: Michael Murphy, Deanna Baugh, Paul Murphy, and Jennifer Murphy. She is further survived by her cherished grandchildren Hailey, McKenzie, Maddox, Madi, Addisyn, Nevaeh, and Evelynn, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy. Annette will also be dearly missed by her sisters, Cathy Moorehead and Sharon Bernadickt, who shared a lifetime of memories, laughter, and sisterly love with her.

Annette’s life was marked by quiet faith, gentle strength, and a love that radiated through every stitch she crocheted, every story she uncovered, and every cookie she baked. Her legacy lives on in the family she nurtured, the traditions she preserved, and the faith she carried with grace.
