Jack Blair, age 95, passed away on May 25, 2026 in Salem, Oregon. Born on August 31, 1930, in McCurtain, Oklahoma, Jack lived a life marked by faith, hard work, devotion to family, and service to his country and community.
Jack was the son of Clyde Blair and Delia (Mabry) Blair. He spent his early years in Oklahoma before moving to California, where he graduated from Livingston High School in 1949. On January 25, 1953, he married the love of his life, Ilene Hooker, in Delhi, California. Together they built a strong and loving family and shared many years of marriage before Ilene's passing.
Jack proudly served in the United States Army as an Ammunition Specialist from 1951 to 1953. Following his military service, he worked as a construction worker and later as a steel worker at WaChang. He was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and dedication to providing for his family.
A man of deep faith, Jack served as a Deacon of Turner Christian Church, where he was respected for his servant's heart and commitment to his church family. His faith guided him throughout his life and was reflected in the kindness and integrity with which he treated others.
Jack lived in McCurtain, Oklahoma; Delhi, California; Turner, Oregon; and Salem, Oregon. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cheering for the New York Yankees, and following the Oklahoma Sooners. Above all, he treasured time spent with his family and took great pride in watching future generations grow.
Jack is survived by his children, Thomas Blair, Russell Blair, and Collene Morlan; his grandchildren, Christopher, Mellissa, Brian Jr., Josh, Jacob, Ashley, Russhell, Jesse, Ben, and Thomas; his great-grandchildren, Carmen, Devin, Collin, Abigail, LilyAnn, Sage, Jackson, Brielle, Alexandra, Mikayla, Isabell, Tristian, Elizabeth, Travis, and Thomas; and his great-great-granddaughter, Ava, along with numerous extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ilene Blair; his parents, Clyde and Delia Blair; his brothers, Oscar, Frank, and Bob Blair; his sister, Rosie; his daughter, Jackie; his son, Brian Sr.; his grandsons, Jack, Robert, and Michael; his great-granddaughter, Destiny; and his great-grandson, Lorne III.
Jack's legacy is one of faith, perseverance, service, and love. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, veteran, church leader, and friend whose influence will continue through the generations he helped shape.
