James Bruce Anglin, a loving father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 26, 2023. Born on November 29, 1952, in Anchorage, Alaska, to Florine Mathers and Oliver Anglin, James was a man of many talents and interests, who lived his life with a deep love for his family and the great outdoors.
James spent his early years in Alaska, where he developed a love for the wilderness that would remain with him throughout his life. He worked as a logger in Alaska and Santiam Canyon, demonstrating an impressive work ethic and a knack for hands-on tasks. Later, he transitioned into a career as a mechanic. He was always very skilled and handy. The last few years he worked in the Portland shipyards for sandblast and paint, where his handy nature and problem-solving skills were highly valued.
James was a man who loved adventure and the thrill of discovery. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, often spending his free time in the great outdoors. His interest in gold prospecting was more than a hobby; it was a passion that brought him great joy and excitement. Yet, despite his adventurous spirit, James was a family man at heart. He cherished the time spent with his children, grandchildren, and siblings, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
James is survived by his children, Gary Anglin, Monique Harris, Jesse Anglin, and Violet Anglin, and his brother, Tom Anglin. He was a proud grandfather to many grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart. James was predeceased by his beloved wife, Crystal Groves,
