James Francis Clifford

James F. Clifford, 86, of Stayton, Oregon, passed away unexpectedly on June 18, 2020.  Jim, as he was known to most, was born January 19, 1934 to parents Donald and Hazel (Macquerie) Clifford in Parshall, Colorado.  He graduated from Rifle Union High School, in Rifle, Colorado in 1951.  He immediately enlisted in the Marine Corps, where he served in both Korea and Vietnam and retired as a Master Gunnery Sergeant in 1972.  His next major career was as the lab supervisor for the Weights and Measures division of the Oregon Department of Agriculture.  He married Cynthia Larson in 1962, and they had two children, Margaret Ann and Kristina Lynn.  Jim is survived by his sister, Betty Clifford, his grandson James Clifford and his daughter, Kristina Hill.  He was predeceased by his wife, Cynthia, his daughter Margaret, and his brother Donald Clifford.  He was a skilled woodworker, an avid learner and a true gentleman.  A memorial service with military honors will be held on July 11, at 1:00pm, at Weddle Funeral Home in Stayton, Oregon.  Instead of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, The Lung Cancer Research Foundation or the charity of your choice
