James Steven Hightower (Uncle Dick) of Marion, OR, died peacefully at his home with family members at his side on November 28, 2020. Jim was born on January 29, 1937 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Cornelius Hall and Montella (Forsythe) Hightower. Jim was preceded in death by his mother, father and his six siblings. After attending Cascade High School he proudly served his country in the Army, traveling overseas to Okinawa as a decoding specialist. Jim spent many years in California where he owned an oil well supply company, and acquired a love of golf. He also enjoyed playing pool, singing karaoke, and hosting parties at the mini-golf park he built. He is survived by many nieces, nephews and great friends who were part of his extended family. A larger than life personality, Jim will be greatly missed by his family and the many friends he made wherever he went.
