Jesse David Hartzell

Jesse David Hartzell, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on April 24, 2025 at the age of 62 in Salem, Oregon. Born on October 3, 1962, in Galveston, Texas, Jesse was the cherished son of Rita Tucker and Paul Hartzell. He grew up in a loving family alongside his siblings Rita, Paula, Jerry, Kathleen, Pam, and John, sharing countless memories that shaped his early years.

At the age of 15, Jesse met the love of his life, Karen Marie Ficek. Their bond was instant and unwavering, leading to their marriage on June 30, 1980. Together, Jesse and Karen built a life filled with love, devotion, and happiness, raising their children: Jesse Hartzell, Kristina Shephard, Paul Hartzell, Jimmy Shephard, and Roxanne Hartzell.

Jesse's pride and joy extended to his grandchildren, Zara, Bella, Zander, Graysen, Bailey, and Jonathan, who brought him endless moments of joy.

A dedicated truck driver by trade, Jesse exemplified hard work and commitment throughout his career. Outside of work, he found peace in fishing and excitement in watching football—a passion that included lifelong support of his favorite team, the Raiders.

Jesse is preceded in death by his parents, Rita Tucker and Paul Hartzell, and his sister Rita Hartzell. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his surviving family members and friends, who will forever honor and cherish the wonderful man he was.
