Johnathan Dylan Beavis, born July 18, 1994, in Denver, Colorado, to Santera (Campbell) Mink and Bradley Beavis, lived a life marked by energy, generosity, and a fearless spirit that drew people to him. He spent his childhood in Maupin, Oregon, where he grew into a young man known for his athletic talent, his big laugh, and his unwavering drive to take on whatever challenge stood in front of him.
A proud member of the Maupin High School Class of 2013, Johnathan threw himself wholeheartedly into school life. He played football, basketball, softball, and ran track, excelling in nearly everything he tried. His speed and determination earned him multiple track and field awards, and his classmates honored him as their Homecoming King during his senior year. Those who knew him then remember a young man who was both competitive and kind, someone who lifted others up while pushing himself forward.
At eighteen, Johnathan moved to Salem, Oregon, where he built a career defined by hard work and leadership. He became a lead lineman, trusted with his own crew, and took pride in the responsibility and skill the job demanded. He approached his work the same way he approached life, head first, with ambition, courage, and a willingness to give everything he had.
Outside of work, Johnathan found joy in the things that connected him to the land, to animals, and to the people he loved. He enjoyed riding horses and even competed in several rodeos, embracing the thrill and challenge of the arena. He loved gardening and landscaping and he treasured time spent with his nieces and nephews. He was rarely happier than when he was out walking his dogs, taking in the quiet moments between life’s bigger adventures.
Johnathan’s personality was unforgettable. His laugh was loud and infectious, the kind that filled a room and made others smile without trying. He had a generous heart, a sharp sense of humor, and a love for adrenaline that kept life exciting. He gave freely to friends, to family, or to anyone who needed a hand.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bradley Beavis.
Johnathan is survived by his mother, Santera Mink, and stepfather, Jason Mink; his siblings, Reneé, Ashley, Taylyn, and Ashton; and the many family members, friends, and loved ones who will carry his memory forward.
