Judith Griffith Profile Photo

Judith Anne Griffith, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and faithful servant of the Lord, entered her heavenly home on September 8, 2025, in Salem, Oregon. She was 87 years old.

Born on July 3, 1938, in San Antonio, Texas, to Hezekiah H. Boyd and Pearl Kerr, Judith’s life was filled with a love for God, family, and the beauty of creation. On May 23, 1954, in Hartshorne, Oklahoma, she married the love of her life, Emmett M. Griffith. Together, they built a family and a home grounded in faith, love, and devotion.

Judith grew up with a heart for service and a passion for learning, later earning her Master’s Degree in Psychology from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 1988, graduating with honors. She dedicated her life to being both a homemaker and a Christian counselor, ministering to others with wisdom, compassion, and grace. She served as a Youth for Christ leader, Sunday school teacher, Bible study leader, and active member of Stayton Christian Church. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she joyfully encouraged others to walk with Christ.

An artist at heart, Judith found God’s glory in the landscapes she loved to paint from the deserts of Arizona to the mountains and seascapes of the Pacific coast. She was an avid reader, lifelong learner, and member of various art clubs where she shared her creativity and gifts with others. Her love of travel took her across the western states, where she marveled at the Lord’s creation.

Judith was preceded in death by her beloved husband, her parents, and her brother Louis. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and family. She is survived by her children: Bud (Pam) Griffith, Karen (Jim) Chrisman, and Lynn (David) Cervantes; her grandchildren: Molly, Amy, Tarah, Joel, Kayla, Emily, Nathan, Zachary, Charity, and Christa; and her great-grandchildren: Canyon, Josh, Liam, Phoebe, Addie, Lydia, Jack, Hudson, Miles, Everett, and David.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. with a service to follow at 4:00 p.m. at Weddle Funeral Service in Stayton, Oregon. A private burial will take place at Roseburg National Cemetery.

Judith’s life was a testimony of God’s grace, a reflection of Christ’s love, and a reminder that “to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:8). She will be deeply missed and joyfully remembered until we meet again in glory.
