Katie Leming Barghini

A Celebration of Life will be held for Katie Michelle (Leming) Barghini at 11am on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Foothills Community Church in Stayton, Oregon who passed away on April 25, 2018 at age 37. Reception to follow. Katie was a t-shirt and jeans kind of girl. Please come casual. Katie was born on November 19, 1980 in Salem, Oregon to Tom and Patty (Tower) Leming. Katie was an incredible person. All of her many qualities stood out from an early age, from her innate ability to care for others to her ability to make others laugh. She was quite the prankster, even as early as age 3 when she put her brother in the fireplace to “keep him safe”. It’s incredibly hard to sum up her short yet incredibly full life- it was full of many hobbies such as collecting rocks and shells but also creating art. She was an amazing artist who could capture anything and paint it. She was also an athlete, gardener and cat whisperer. Katie loved cooking and could make anything, believing that all foods could be deep fried. She had so much talent and skill in so many areas, there was truly nothing that Katie could not do. She loved anything outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Her free time was always best spent outdoors enjoying the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Most of all, Katie was an amazing daughter, sister, wife and aunt to her 4 nieces and nephews. There are so many people she has touched throughout her life. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her. Katie is survived by her parents Tom and Patty, husband Anthony, and her brother Ken (Dory) Leming, and four nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers and a way to honor Katie’s memory, the family suggests contributions be made to Angel Hair Foundation or Children with Hair Loss, a charity that was near and dear to her heart. As a final gift of compassion the family is donating Katie’s hair to the organization which makes wigs for children who are fighting cancer. Please honor her memory and consider making a donation.
