Margaret “Peggy” Leona Aikin, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025, surrounded by family. She was born on April 1, 1937, in Wheatland, Wyoming, to Laura Busler and John Lawyer.

Peggy lived a life filled with love, faith, and devotion to her family. She graduated from high school and went on to work in retail, where her creativity and eye for beauty shone through her work as a window designer for a department store. But her greatest joy came from her role as a homemaker, wife, and mother—a calling she embraced with her whole heart.

Peggy first married Wayne Jenkins, and together they shared many happy years before his passing. Later, she found love again with Robert Aikin, whom she married and shared a beautiful life with in Aumsville, Oregon, where she lived for 47 years.

A devoted mother, Peggy is survived by her children, Michelle McGillivary and Michael Jenkins. She was also a loving stepmother to Eddy Aikin and Cheryl Mauer, both of whom she held close in her heart. Her family grew over the years to include ten grandchildren—Justin McGillivary, Kayla Sell, Jared McGillivary, Vanessa Denham, Andrea Barrera, Kristina Crawford-Medina, Sara Rogers, Lindsey Nunez-Aikin, Jennifer Mauer, and Heather Mauer—each of whom brought her immense pride and joy.

Peggy was the kind of person who made every house feel like home. She was a devoted member of her Baptist church and took great joy in serving through AWANA, where her faith and kindness touched many lives. She found peace and delight in the simple pleasures—gardening, playing games with family, reading her Daily Bread devotional, and collecting crystals that reminded her of life’s quiet beauty in addition to TY Beanie Babies.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Wayne Jenkins and Robert Aikin; her siblings, Jack Lawyer, Delbert Lawyer, Millie Newton, and Recille Crosby; and her stepchildren, Eddy Aikin and Cheryl Mauer. She is survived by her stepsister, Ramel Lawyer, and many other loved ones who will continue to cherish her memory.

Peggy will be remembered for her unwavering love, her gentle spirit, and her strength through life’s challenges. She taught by example—showing that faith, family, and kindness are the greatest treasures of all.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of everyone who was blessed to know her.
